Men of the Day: The Vanity Fair Caricatures
Every plate we can restore — the full run.
From 1868 the London Vanity Fair ran a full-color caricature of a famous man in nearly every issue — its 'Men of the Day.' Drawn by 'Spy' (Leslie Ward) and 'Ape' (Carlo Pellegrini) and printed as chromolithographs, they are among the most collected images of the Victorian and Edwardian age. This is the archive we have recovered and restored — public domain, digitally cleaned and labeled at comicbooks.com.
