Leslie Ward ('Spy') portrays Lloyd Price — Welsh landowner, sporting enthusiast, and celebrated breeder of pointer dogs — in full country kit: tweed Norfolk jacket and waistcoat, plus-fours, red stockings, buckled ankle boots, and a battered felt hat. He cradles a break-action shotgun in the crook of his left arm and trails a leather dog-lead from his right hand. The caption, *'pointers'*, is a double pun on his famous kennel and his role as an authority figure in field sports. The caricature exaggerates his ruddy, bearded face and solid build.
