The Saint Detective Magazine, June 1955
This June 1955 issue of Saint Detective Magazine, edited by Leslie Charteris, contains eight stories across detective and mystery genres. "Murder with Flowers" by Q. Patrick features the sophisticated couple sleuths Peter and Mrs. Duluth investigating a mystery. "The Poetical Policeman" by Edgar Wallace showcases his character J. G. Reeder in a Scotland Yard procedural. "The Harmonica Mystery" by P. G. Wodehouse marks an unusual departure from his comic work—a suspenseful tale from earlier in his career. "The Smell of Dead Men" by Sax Rohmer introduces Moris Klaw, beginning a series from the master of the macabre (better known for Dr. Fu Manchu). "Reprieve at Eleven" by Frederick Nebel exemplifies hard-boiled detective fiction from Black Mask magazine traditions. Additional stories include Cyril Hare's "Never Forget-a-Face," Herbert Harris's "Poison Trail," Michael Hervey's "Fool Proof," and the lead novelet "The Romantic Matron" by Charteris himself, featuring the Saint in Havana encountering a mysterious woman seeking aid amid casino intrigue.
