S.I.P.: Agente Espacial
"Agente Espacial" (Space Agent) This Spanish-language science fiction story, published in 1960 by Toray in their S.I.P. (Spacial International Police) series, depicts a jewel heist aboard the luxury spaceship *Spacius* traveling between Venus and Earth. Commander Harold Arnett hosts an elegant ball where passengers, adorned in jewels worth one billion credits, mysteriously lose their valuables within thirty seconds. Detective Noel Russell, the ship's investigator, calms the panicked guests by assuring them the thief cannot escape the vessel and will face the Spacial International Police upon arrival at Earth. Russell and the ship's officers conduct an exhaustive search of passenger cabins, crew quarters, cargo holds, and engine rooms—all yielding nothing. After six hours of fruitless investigation, Russell admits to the now-anxious commander that no stolen goods will be found, suggesting something far stranger has occurred.
