· July 1947 | 25 cents

This issue of Mammoth Adventure (July 1947) features five complete adventure stories spanning historical and contemporary settings. The lead novelette, "English Steel and Spanish Passion" by Drake Williams and Warren Geiger, depicts Captain Edward Terror, a fearless privateer preying on Spanish ships during the Caribbean's golden age of piracy. Berkeley Livingston's novel "Uranium Started in Chicago" tracks Nazi activities in South America centered on uranium procurement. Lester Barclay contributes "Andean Adventure," involving a lost aircraft and a woman named Maria Cordoba in the Andes. Richard S. Shaver's novelette "The Princess and the Renegade" concerns Gonzalo Guerrero, a renegade and soldier under Cortez in sixteenth-century Central America. The issue also includes shorter fiction and a Rosicrucian Order advertisement. The cover art, painted by James B. Settles, illustrates a historically accurate Spanish galleon from the privateering era.
