Doc Savage: La Campana Verde
This Spanish-language Doc Savage pulp adventure, "La Campana Verde" (The Czar of Fear), by Kenneth Robeson (Lester Dent), follows siblings Jim and Alice Cash and their elderly companion Aunt Nora as they flee toward New York seeking Doc Savage's aid. A mysterious, sinister force called the Green Bell—manifesting as a tall black tubular figure bearing a painted green bell—broadcasts an eerie, terrifying signal through radio waves announcing death. The trio experiences a supernatural broadcast while dining, then discovers their car's gasoline mysteriously drained by the Green Bell entity. As Jim walks for fuel, he encounters several Green Bell figures near railroad bridges. After a violent struggle, they murder him by forcing his electrified body against a third rail. The narrative establishes the Green Bell as a lethal, seemingly superhuman threat targeting the Cash family and the industrial city of Prosper City, with Doc Savage positioned as their only hope.
