La gruta del tiempo
· 1968

Peter Kapra's cover for this Spanish science-fiction pulp depicts an astronaut in a red and yellow pressure suit confronting a massive disembodied eye on an alien landscape. A derelict spacecraft sits half-buried in rust-colored sand beneath a deep blue sky. The bold yellow sans-serif typography announces the title—"The Time Grotto"—establishing the adventure's speculative stakes. Published during pulp magazine's final decade, this cover exemplifies the hand-painted illustration tradition that dominated newsstand SF throughout the 1960s. The grotesque alien creature and abandoned technology promise the genre's core appeal: exploration of unknown worlds and encounters with incomprehensible intelligence.
