Brigitte en Acción

This Spanish-language pulp magazine features "Brigitte en Acción" (Brigitte in Action), written by Lou Carrigan. The story follows Brigitte Montfort, an international spy-adventurer working with France's Deuxième Bureau intelligence service. After receiving a mysterious letter from Paris at her New York newspaper office, Brigitte abandons her editor Miky Grogan's demands for articles about her Canadian adventures and flies to France. There she meets her contact, Monsieur Nez, at a Paris fashion show. He assigns her to an Alpine spa town called Saint Honoré near Lake Geneva, ostensibly to rest her "delicate heart" while actually surveilling Helmut von Mandle, a fifty-three-year-old former Nazi SS officer and war criminal who was imprisoned for twenty years but has apparently resurfaced. The narrative combines spy intrigue with light romantic comedy, featuring Brigitte's interactions with smitten colleagues and her flirtations with various men.
