Museum Catalog Note
*El Final del Laberinto* by Clark Carrados (Collection Selección Terror no. 511, Editorial Bruguera, 1982) is a science fiction thriller. Kirby Heldon, a man of modest circumstances, is ambushed at night by two large, unknown assailants who render him unconscious with gas. He awakens in a sparse concrete cell with minimal furnishings and a small window. A disembodied voice from a speaker explains he must remain confined while his needs are provided. Heldon attempts escape by overpowering the guards delivering meals through a slot, briefly reaching the exterior before machine gun fire forces his retreat. He observes other captives—including an unconscious young dark-haired woman—being brought to the facility. After two weeks, he is summoned to a large hall where seven other prisoners (four women, three men) are assembled under armed guard. The narrative breaks off at this point in the OCR text.
