A mysterious clergyman visits Myra with news that Florrie survives, rescued by a fisherman—but this proves a ruse. Myra is abducted, while Weatherbee narrowly escapes a kidnapping attempt. Three months later, young detectives Ally Webber and Mark Sherman investigate in Chesapeake Bay near the wrecked ship Alaska. Approaching the vessel's hull, they encounter sharks fleeing the wreck's flooded hold, suggesting something otherworldly lurks within the sunken ship.
