Revolver Rob, the Red-Handed; or, The Belle of Nugget Camp
This issue of *Frank Reade Library* (April 1903) presents a Western adventure serial by Joseph E. Badger, Jr., author of "Old '49" and "Joaquin the Terrible." The narrative follows a mysterious figure organizing a "League of Six" in an abandoned mining shaft in the Arizona Foothills. Five masked men are summoned to enact revenge against the notorious gunslinger Revolver Robinson. Each member reveals his grievance: the first has spent three years hunting Robinson (once known as Black Jack Copeland) for murdering his brother; the second describes how Robinson, posing as a friend, seduced another man's wife and stole his fortune, leaving the woman to die destitute. The chief reveals their motivations are not coincidental but carefully selected. The text focuses on the conspiracy's formation and the testimonies of blood vengeance against their common enemy.
