Unable to find work on Mars due to his disability, Garver haunts the League of Free Traders club until Captain Vanderhoff hires him as chief jetman aboard the aging *S.S. Fafnir*—a German-built Ring Class freighter—bound for Earth. The story opens Garver's path home after fifteen years in space. The issue also includes short fiction: "Quiz Game" by Frank M. Robinson, "Impostor" by Philip K. Dick, and "The Cog" by Charles E. Fritch, along with articles by Wallace West and Hal Clement.
