This issue features four serialized novels. Frank L. Packard's "The Big Shot" (Part 1) depicts the ruler of New York's underworld. Ralph Milne Farley's "The Radio Flyers" (Part 1) follows aviators in polar ice. "Swords Are Out!" (Part II) presents war and adventure in western China. Charles Alden Seltzer's "Man-Hunt" (Part V) explores justice versus friendship in Arizona. Complete stories include "Bamboo War" by B.L. Nalence, set during wartime; Anthony M. Rud's novelette "Big Casino," featuring treasure-hunting in Alabama piney woods; Dudley Hoys's "In the Blood," an unfair exchange in a Bagdad bazaar; and Ruland V.E. Waltner's "Gambler's Luck," about castaways on an isle of hatred. Non-fiction pieces cover heroism at sea and Trinidad's Pitch Lake.
