Museum Catalog Note This November 1926 issue of *Amazing Stories* contains the first installment of Garrett P. Serviss's serial *The Second Deluge* (three parts), concluding chapters of H.G. Wells's *The Island of Dr. Moreau* and A. Hyatt Verrill's *Beyond the Pole*, plus standalone stories: "The Mad Planet" by Murray Leinster and Jules Verne's "A Drama in the Air." The lead feature follows Cosmo Versal, a brilliant but diminutive scientist who discovers astronomical evidence that Earth will collide with a nebula, triggering catastrophic worldwide flooding. Convinced of humanity's impending destruction, Versal resolves to build a modern ark to preserve civilization.
