This document is not a pulp magazine but rather a classified U.S. Air Force Intelligence Report (Form 112) dated March 1929, investigating an unidentified flying object sighting. On March 10, 1929, near Victorville, California, a civilian housewife reported observing an unidentified aerial object at approximately 0025 hours. The witness described a bright object with a luminous trail, appearing at roughly 10 degrees elevation above the southern horizon. The object moved in a straight southeasterly direction, traveling from west-northwest toward southeast, displaying a speed the observer characterized as faster than an aircraft but slower than a meteorite. The sighting lasted approximately three seconds, limited by her bedroom window frame. The witness firmly believed the object was neither an airplane nor a meteorite. Captain Rudolph H. Pestalozzi conducted the investigation for the 831st Air Division Intelligence Office, noting the observer appeared sincere and lucid. Tower personnel at nearby George Air Traffic Control reported no unusual activity. No corroborating evidence or physical remains were recovered.
