World of Adventure Magazine, March 1959
This document is an official USAF Project Blue Book record card from March 1959 documenting a UFO sighting near Anchorage, Alaska. An experienced F-27 pilot with Consolidated Airlines observed a bright light moving horizontally across his windscreen, initially believed to be an aircraft navigation light. The object flashed brilliantly like an explosion to the north and remained visible for approximately two to three seconds. The University of Alaska astronomy department suggested it might be a meteorite or fireball, while local press speculated about possible Soviet satellite reentry. Military intelligence noted that 1959 Alfa 2 was predicted to pass over Alaska at roughly the observed time and direction, making satellite reentry a possibility, though the Air Force noted insufficient data for definitive evaluation.
