This document is not a pulp magazine but rather a declassified U.S. Air Force UFO sighting report from Project 10073, the official program investigating unidentified flying objects. The record card documents a sighting near Soap Lake, Washington, reported by a factory service attendant. The witness described a round, basketball-sized object with a reddish-orange appearance that fell like a star, exploded with a bright glare, and left a white smoke trail. The object made a thunderlike sound and disappeared instantaneously after approximately five minutes. An intelligence officer concluded the witness had "limited intelligence and powers of observation" with probable exaggeration stemming from desire for attention, determining the sighting was "probably a meteorite."
