This document consists of Air Intelligence Information Reports from Flight 2-B, 4602d AISS, dated September 1955, documenting a UFO sighting near Alcoa, Tennessee. The primary witness, a 31-year-old housewife identified as "Mrs," observed an unusual aerial object while sitting in her yard on September 9, 1955 at approximately 1800 hours, east of McGhee-Tyson Municipal Airport. The object appeared almost square and solid, moving slowly in circular motion from north to northeast before disappearing behind trees. The observation lasted 10-15 minutes. Military investigators conducted follow-up inquiries with weather stations, commercial airlines, astronomers, radar facilities, and military pilots—all reporting negative findings. Weather balloons, military jets, and civilian aircraft were ruled out through cross-checking. However, the investigating officer noted the witness changed her description from "almost square" to "pointed like a rocket with stubby wings" during follow-up interviews, raising questions about her reliability. The approving headquarters concluded the witness likely misinterpreted one or more known aircraft in the area.
