The primary content is a detailed July 29, 1952 letter from Major Peter B Venable, Assistant Chief of Combat Intelligence, submitting a report of two luminous objects observed over Lavalette, New Jersey on July 19-20. The witness account describes approximately five-to-ten-minute observation of two orange-yellow lights, each about five times the apparent size of Venus but dimmer, moving slowly northward over water at less than 100 mph before turning westward and circling inland, gradually fading from view. The witness notes they resembled weather balloons but lacked the characteristics expected from known aircraft or dirigibles, exhibiting directed motion and complete silence.
