This magazine contains a column by Billy Rose titled "The Saucer Cheers," published in the Daily News in July 1950. Rose recounts witnessing flying saucers near Newtown, Connecticut, on a clear night two summers prior, alongside playwright Paul Osborne, director Josh Logan, and author John Hersey. The group observed searchlights and three disc-shaped objects hovering at 3,000–5,000 feet altitude with ghostly blue neon-like glows around their edges, moving until midnight. Rose argues that flying saucer sightings, previously dismissed as delirious reports, are now supported by documentation. He cites broadcaster Henry J. Taylor's April 3 broadcast claiming the objects are secret U.S. Navy and Air Force weapons, describing two types: unmanned remote-controlled discs ranging from 20 inches to 300 feet in diameter, and crewed craft capable of supersonic speeds. Taylor reports a disc photographed near Wildwood, New Jersey, and another found near Galveston, Texas, both marked "Military Secret of the United States of America" with warnings against disclosure.
