This document is an excerpt from Project Grudge, a U.S. Air Force investigation of UFO sightings. It includes Incident #140 from Gahanna, Ohio (July 1, 1948), describing a sighting where bright moonlight was reported during observation hours, though the moon had not yet risen at the stated time. The bulk of the material comprises Dr. Hynek's systematic categorization of 243 incidents into evaluation indices: astronomical explanations (high or fair/low probability); non-astronomical but explicable phenomena (balloons, aircraft, rockets, flares, reflections, auroral streamers, or birds); and unexplained cases divided into those lacking sufficient evidence and those where offered evidence suggested no conventional explanation. The document is primarily tabular data organizing sighting cases by their classification.
