Published five months after the Civil War's end, this full-page composite plate carries the caption "Christmas to All" and bears Nast's signature in the central panel. The composition arranges six vignettes around a large medallion portrait of a fur-cloaked, wreath-crowned Santa Claus — Nast's signature rotund Father Christmas, already departing the lean Dutch *Sinterklaas* tradition. A bugler boy in Union kepi occupies a smaller circle at upper right, signaling the holiday in military terms still raw from the war. Middle panels show a winter snowball fight and a domestic interior reunion — likely a soldier's homecoming — where figures embrace at a doorway hung with garland. The broad bottom frieze depicts a street pantomime parade labeled "Giant Killer", featuring Harlequin and clown figures alongside a crowd of soldiers and civilians. Taken whole, Nast frames Christmas 1865 as a national reconciliation: Union imagery softened into hearth and play.
