Antisemitic Folk Verses Illustrated

This drawing by Constantin Jiquidi illustrates folk verses collected by Theodor Speranția, a prominent Romanian academician and folklorist. Three figures occupy the composition's center. The accompanying text presents folk rhymes in Romanian.
The work exemplifies print satire traditions descended from Hogarth and Gillray in late 19th-century Eastern Europe. Jiquidi was known for comic illustration work.
