From the exhibition
Eschscholzia californica Cham.
· August 1902

This herbarium sheet, collected August 1902 at Grimsby and signed by a collector identified only as 'A. Smith,' is conspicuously blank — the pressed plant specimen once mounted here is gone, leaving only label fragments and a pencilled catalogue reference ('9th Edition London Catalogue, Number: After 65'). It is not a cartoon or caricature. No satirical figures, printmaking technique, or political target are present. To fabricate such a description would misrepresent a botanical archive document from the Natural History Museum, London. The sheet belongs to the history of natural history collection, not print satire.
