Stemodia stricta Cham. & Schltdl.

· Collected 1885–95; accessioned Natural History Museum, London

Stemodia stricta Cham. & Schltdl.
This is a pressed botanical herbarium specimen, not a cartoon or caricature. The mounted plant — *Stemodia stricta*, a slender-stemmed herb in the plantain family — was collected in central Paraguay by Dr. Emil Hassler during his 1885–95 expeditions. Accompanying labels record its lectotype status, a University of Texas Herbarium determination (C. Cowan, 1993), and a Natural History Museum London barcode. A Macbeth ColorChecker and metric rule are included for photographic calibration. No satirical content, printmaking technique, or caricature tradition is present or applicable here. Writing a fabricated cartoon label for a scientific specimen would misrepresent both the object and the exhibition context this prompt describes.
