From the exhibition
Hypericum anagalloides Cham. & Schltdl.
· Collected 1871, determined 1986

This is a herbarium specimen sheet, not a political cartoon or caricature, and cannot be honestly described as one. The image shows pressed and dried plant material — *Hypericum anagalloides* (bog St. John's wort) — mounted on archival paper, collected in Oregon by Elihu Hall in 1871 and formally determined by N. K. B. Robson in 1986 for the Natural History Museum, London. No satirical tradition, printmaking technique, or caricature subject is present or can be responsibly invented. Accurate cataloguing serves the public better than fiction.
