· Collected October 1913, Sierra de Tonala, Chiapas, Mexico; collector C.A. Purpus

Eriosema grandiflorum (Schltdl. & Cham.) G.Don
This is a pressed botanical herbarium specimen, not a cartoon or caricature, and cannot be described as one. The sheet shows dried branches of *Eriosema grandiflorum*, a leguminous shrub, mounted on archival paper with standard herbarium tape strips. Labels identify it as part of the *Plantae Mexicanae Purpusianae* series and include a 1967 New York Botanical Garden revision annotation by John W. Grear Jr. A Natural History Museum London barcode confirms institutional accession. No satirical, printmaking, or caricature tradition applies to this object.
