Hypericum anagalloides Cham. & Schltdl.

· Collected 1895, determined 1986

Hypericum anagalloides Cham. & Schltdl.
This is a herbarium specimen sheet, not a political cartoon or caricature. It shows pressed and dried stems of *Hypericum anagalloides* (tinker's penny, a small St. John's wort) mounted on archival paper, collected from low wet ground in the Upper Valley of the Nisqually, Cascade Mountains, Washington, by O. D. Allen in June 1895. Two manuscript labels record the original identification as *H. mutilum* var. / *H. borvale* Bicknell and a 1986 redetermination by N. K. B. Robson. No satirical content, printmaking tradition, or caricature is present. A wall label in the requested genre cannot honestly be written for this object.
