Herbarium Specimen: Tamonea scabra var. minor Schltdl. & Cham.
· Collected Mexico, 1829–1830

This is not a cartoon or caricature. It is a pressed botanical herbarium specimen — a dried plant mounted on archival paper — collected in Mexico by Schiede and Deppe during 1829–1830 and designated an isotype specimen of *Tamonea scabra* var. *minor*, formally described by Schlechtendal and Chamisso. A color calibration chart and centimeter scale appear for photographic documentation. No satirical tradition, printmaking technique, or caricature content applies here. Writing a wall label situating this object within the Hogarth-to-comic-book lineage would be factually false. The image shows a scientific natural history document, not a work of graphic satire.
