Herbarium Specimen: Cuphea lysimachioides Cham. & Schltdl.

· Collected 1908–1909, mounted c. 1903–1910

Herbarium Specimen: Cuphea lysimachioides Cham. & Schltdl.
This is not a cartoon or caricature — it is a botanical herbarium sheet from the Natural History Museum, London (BM 000512688), bearing pressed specimens of *Cuphea* collected in northern Paraguay between the Río Apa and Río Aquidabán by K. Fiebrig. The sheet carries an isotype designation and a manuscript determination label. No satirical figures, printmaking tradition, or caricature content is present. Fabricating a wall-label narrative connecting this specimen to Hogarth, Gillray, or comic-strip lineage would be false. The honest label is botanical: a type specimen documenting a small-flowered South American Lythraceae, preserved as the evidentiary anchor for the species name.
