Cuphea calophylla Cham. & Schltdl.

This is a pressed herbarium specimen, not a cartoon or caricature. It shows a dried plant — *Cuphea calophylla* (Lythraceae) — mounted on archival paper with stems, leaves, and remnant flowers arranged across the sheet. Labels identify it as collected in Central Paraguay by Thos. Morong (1885–1890), originally catalogued as *Cuphea spicata* Cav. (no. 136), distributed from Columbia College's herbarium, and re-determined by Shirey A. Graham in February 2002. A color-calibration chart and centimeter scale accompany the mount. No satirical content, printmaking tradition, or caricature is present. Writing a comic-art wall label for this object would be fabrication.
