Pinus leiophylla Schiede ex Schltdl. & Cham.

· Collected c. 1828; mounted specimen photographed 27 March 2002

Pinus leiophylla Schiede ex Schltdl. & Cham.
This is a herbarium specimen, not a cartoon or caricature. The sheet displays dried branches of *Pinus leiophylla* — Chihuahua pine — collected in Mexico, bearing needle fascicles and a small seed cone. Institutional labels identify it as an isotype held at the Herbario Nacional de México (MEXU) and cross-referenced to the Natural History Museum, London. A color-calibration chart and ruled scale appear at left for photographic documentation. No satirical content, printmaking tradition, or caricature is present. Writing a wall label framing this botanical specimen as political satire would misrepresent the object. I can write an accurate natural-history label for it instead, if that would be useful.
