Potamogeton trichoides Cham. & Schltdl.

· Collected 26 July 1892

Potamogeton trichoides Cham. & Schltdl.
This is not a cartoon or caricature. The image shows a Natural History Museum herbarium specimen sheet: pressed aquatic plant fragments (*Potamogeton trichoides*) mounted on aged paper, accompanied by handwritten collection notes, a color-calibration chart, and a metric scale bar. The labels record collection at Lake Phiala (Anti-Lebanon region, Syria/Lebanon), with provenance through the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew (presented 1959), and a 2002 taxonomic revision by Z. Kaplan confirming syntypus status. No satirical, caricature, or printmaking tradition applies here. This specimen belongs to the history of systematic botany, not graphic satire.
