Aristolochia tagala Cham. (Herbarium Specimen)

· Collected March–April 1889; revised identification May 1978

Aristolochia tagala Cham. (Herbarium Specimen)
This is not a cartoon or caricature — it is a pressed botanical herbarium sheet collected by Otto Warburg in German New Guinea (present-day Papua New Guinea) during the Iter Warburgianum expedition of 1885–1889. The specimen, originally identified as *Aristolochia megalophylla* K.Schumann, was revised to *Aristolochia tagala* Cham. by Ding Hou in 1978 for *Flora Malesiana*. No satirical content, printmaking tradition, or caricature is present. The image cannot honestly be described as a political cartoon, and fabricating that framing would misrepresent a scientific primary source.
