From the exhibition

Rhynchanthera verbenoides Cham.

· Collected 1912–13, accessioned Natural History Museum, London

Rhynchanthera verbenoides Cham.
This is a pressed herbarium specimen, not a cartoon or caricature. The image shows a dried botanical plant — *Rhynchanthera verbenoides* Cham. (family Melastomataceae) — mounted on archival paper with small pink-purple flowers, wiry branching stems, and exposed root system. Labels identify collector Dr. E. Hassler, collection number 11415, locality 'Sierra de Amambay,' Paraguay. A color-calibration chart and ruled scale appear for photographic documentation. No satirical content, printmaking tradition, or caricature is present. Accurately labeling scientific specimens is itself a form of historical record — but this object belongs in a natural history gallery, not a comics exhibition.
