· Collected c. 1860, mounted for the Herbarium of Kew Gardens

Plagiobothrys chorisianus (Cham. & Schltdl.) Greene
This is a botanical herbarium sheet, not a political cartoon or caricature. It displays pressed and dried specimens of *Plagiobothrys chorisianus*, a small annual flowering plant in the borage family (Boraginaceae), native to California. Four upright stems and one rosette specimen are mounted on archival paper alongside a color-calibration strip, collection labels, and Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew accession barcodes. No satirical imagery, printmaking tradition, or caricature subject is present. Attempting to fabricate a wall label for a comic-art exhibition around this object would be historically and intellectually dishonest. The image is a scientific document.
