Terry and Tacks

This Sunday comic strip follows Tacks, a small character with an outsized personality, through a scheme to quit show business and start fresh. Joe Farren's artwork employs the visual conventions that shaped early comics: sequential panels with speech balloons, expressive line work, and recurring characters in escalating comedic situations. The strip demonstrates how newspaper comics developed a visual language of motion and dialogue that would become foundational to the medium.
