The Teasers—Poor Abused Bobby

A six-panel Sunday strip following Bobby's misadventure with a toy rat that costs only a dime. The con man at left sells the mechanical rodent to a street urchin, who uses it to terrorize a household: children scatter in panic, a mother shrieks, and the family dog flees. The joke escalates when Bobby's scheme backfires—his parents discover the rat and turn the tables, tormenting him with his own prank. The strip employs the visual vocabulary codified by newspaper comics: sequential panels advancing narrative, speech balloons for dialogue, exaggerated expressions and body language, and recurring types (the scheming kid, the duped victim).
